To make the Portland Public School's lottery placement process as transparent as possible, the district posts lottery information in multiple languages on its Transfer Process Information Web Page located on the Enrollment and Transfer website. Information on this site includes the Student Enrollment and Transfer Policy that defines district enrollment policy, a School Choice Lottery Explanation, and a Space Availability by School and Program web page, among many other useful documents.

In addition, the online application program generates a choice application email notification for parents who provide an email address. This notification contains student information, choices selected, confirmation number, and time the application was submitted. These measures ensure that parents understand the lottery process, decreasing the chance of communication breakdowns around this process.
